Born in Bristol, Oli Lane now lives and works in London. Reading and writing are his main interests (you can see what Oli is currently reading on Goodreads). Oli studied for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Studies with English at King’s College London. Oli’s dissertation was titled ‘Rivers of History: Moving from Antiquity to Modernity Through Poetry’ and included studies of the English poets Wordsworth, T.S. Eliot and Alice Oswald.
Oli is currently writing his first novel, a historical fiction about the Victorian author, professor and theologian Charles Kingsley. For more information about the upcoming book, see Kingsley.
Oli has strong views on conserving land for nature – especially ancient woodland and rivers. In August 2019, Oli wrote an open letter calling for the Financial Times to cover the sprawling fires destroying much of the Amazon rainforest.
